Our big winner!

We are so proud of Oliver, our "7th Star Winner" at Weatherford Elementary! The school has a reward program where the children receive "star points" for making good choices, doing well on their assignments, being a helper, etc. This totally motivates Oliver. He LOVES this system. Throughout the year we have received updates from him on how many stars he got that day, how close he was to receiving his next Eagle Award (earned every 50 stars), etc. There are various rewards after earning each Eagle award such as getting to eat on the stage with friends, getting to be the teacher's helper for a day, and going on the video announcements in front of the whole school! Well today he got to go on the announcements and tell the whole school that he earned an Eagle Award for completing his 7th Star Chart - 250 stars! He had his picture taken (see adorable missing tooth picture above) which will hang by the front door of the school along with pictures of about 10 other students for reaching their 7th Star Award.

He also very excitedly told us that he gets to eat lunch with the principal, Mr. Moeller, tomorrow as a reward. He pulled me into our playroom this morning and over to our family white board calendar where he had written all by himself "eat mr. moller" on tomorrow's date. Darling.

We are so proud of our big boy and watching him blossom this year in Kindergarten!

Here is a link with more info and you can see his name listed on the school's website!
