Still partying

Matt's brother Daniel got married back in March (click here for the full story) and we are so happy about it we are still celebrating :) Matt's parents planned a fun wedding reception here in the Dallas area for them so that they could see everyone who couldn't make it out to the wedding in North Carolina. We were so excited to see Uncle Dan and Aunt Stephanie - Oliver especially as he really connected with Dan in North Carolina and was counting the days until his visit.

We drove to the airport a little early to pick them up and played around at Founder's Plaza watching the planes take off. What a fun place - I really enjoyed it and could have stayed much longer. The kids liked it ok but found some of the takeoffs a little loud.

During their visit, we enjoyed eating out together, a pizza party at the Dillard's house, lots of chatting, looking at wedding/honeymoon photos, and catching up. The reception was held at a really fun barn in Blue Ridge, Texas about 45 minutes northeast of Plano. It was a fun place to spend an evening and the kids loved it. Oliver was convinced it was Noah's Ark (the big doors and ramp pushed that theory over the edge).

Daddy knows how to get Oliver to smile for the camera... and it requires tickling!

The kids got to stay up past their bedtimes most nights with a grand finale the night of the reception. We attempted to make a bed in the back of our van for them to sleep since we were staying well past bedtime at the reception. The kids however, found it way to fun to roam around the car, play silly games with each other, and look out the windows... no time for sleeping with all of the fun to be had. They were up past 10pm that night, but with all of the cute bonding giggles I heard coming from the windows as I snuck up to the car to check on them, I couldn't stop them. It was so sweet to hear them playing together so happily for over an hour! It was a busy, but very fun family-filled weekend!
